The Democratic Kampuchea regime began in 1975 and lasted for 3 years, 8 months and 20 days. People faced countless tragedies like robbery, forced labor, torture, famine, and the death of family and loved ones. However, sexual assault is also a crime some victims suffered as well. It affected people mentally and psychologically. Although she had a husband, a Khmer Rouge man attempted to force her into marriage. When she refused, her life became a hell. This made her suffer many physical and psychological consequences ever since.
